Jeff Lynn Oskey

Jeffrey Lynn Oskey, age 61, of Hager City, WI died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at his home. He was born on January 28, 1953, in Red Wing, MN to Warren and Beth (Feldman) Oskey. He spent his childhood in Isle and Stanley, MN for a few years before moving back to Red Wing when he was seven years old. Jeff graduated from Red Wing Central High School and Gustavus Adolphus College where he received his bachelor's degree. He also attended many banking schools. His first job was with the Federal Reserve in San Francisco, CA where he lived on a house boat. Jeff went on to become the CEO of Hiawatha National Bank in Hager City, WI and First National Bank in Glenwood City, WI. On October 20, 1990, he was united in marriage to Diana Cady at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Jeff retired in 2009 when his family sold their bank. Since then, he has enjoyed many hobbies. He was an avid reader, he loved biology and history, and enjoyed skiing, both downhill and on the water. Jeff was a world traveler and he also loved nature; he spent much of his time on the river, watching birds, and gardening. As a young man, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a lifetime supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Diana; mother, Beth Oskey; siblings, Mickey (Marsha) Oskey and Cheryl (Tony) Holmes; step-children, Jeffrey (fiancé, Margaret) Cady, Brian (fiancé, Nicki) Cady, Bethany (Andre) Carter, and Angela (Jason) Freedman; step-grandchildren, Alyssa, Aysha, Leo, Madison, Makenna and Quincy; nephew and nieces, Shelley Rusch, Brett (Daphne) Sandborgh, Jillian (Eric) Balzer, Berit (Joey) Coleman, Mariana Oskey; and many great-nieces and nephews, Tyler, Avery, Zachary, Siera and Lily.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren; brother, Peter; and step-grandson, Mitchell Quan Cady.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Pastor Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the church.
