Jeanette Loretta Linder, 83, of Ellsworth died Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Ellsworth Care Center. She was born April 16, 1932 in Troy Township to Alfred and Nellie (Gibbs) Hobbs. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse in Trimbelle Township. On November 20, 1954 she married Edgar Linder at the Church of St. Joseph in Red Wing. They later owned and operated the Back Channel Bar. Jeanette enjoyed gardening and flowers, cooking, playing guitar and music and playing with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Loretta (Steve) Hanvelt of Ellsworth and Marlene Smith of Bay City; grandson, Joshua (Rebecca) Stodola of Ellsworth; granddaughter, Sara (James) Carfora of Red Wing; six great grandchildren, Madison, Adalyn, Brandon, Aaron, Tyler and Joshua ; brother, James (Sandra) Hobbs of Beldenville; sisters-in-law, Betty (Francis) Hobbs of Osceola and Lila (Ernest) Hobbs of Ellsworth; brother-in-law, Marchand (Helen) Lynner of Red Wing; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Linder; brothers, Elwin "Sonny", Eldon "Tommy", Francis and Ernest Hobbs; sisters, Lorraine Hickey and Helen Lynner; parents, Alfred and Nellie and two grandchildren.
Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to service at church.
