Jeanette Axelson

Obituary Notice Jeanette P. Axelson Jeanette Pauline Axelson, 83, of Welch, died Thursday, December 21, 2006, at St. Brigid?s at Hi-Park. She was born July 19, 1923 in Red Wing to Richard and Dena (Hegseth) Simonson. A graduate of Red Wing Central High School, she married Gilbert Axelson on January 6, 1945 in Red Wing. She had worked at Smead?s in Hastings for many years. She and her husband also farmed and owned and operated the Hidden Valley Campground in Welch. Gilbert died on August 31, 1980 and she continued to run the campground until 2005. She was a member of the Cross of Christ Church. She is survived by 3 sons, Gary (Sue) of San Francisco, Steven of Mpls., and Corey of Red Wing; 4 grandchildren; sister, Delores (Ed) Hyngstrom of Maiden Rock, Wis. and a brother, LaVern ?Bud? (Evie) Simonson of Mora, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Chris.A private family service will be held. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
