Jean Marie Lowrie, of Red Wing, died Saturday, July 14, 2012, the day after her 87th birthday, at the Seminary Home. She was born July 13, 1925, in St. Paul, to William and Julia Ullman and grew up in St. Paul where she attended catholic school. On August 16, 1943, she married Donald Lowrie and they lived in Red Wing. Donald died December 10, 2001. Jean was a member of the Church of St. Joseph and had previously served as a Eucharistic minister. Jean enjoyed sewing, shopping and plants. Jean's family would like to give a special thank-you to Don Tomczik for his care in bringing communion to Jean weekly, when she was no longer able to attend church.
Jean is survived by her son, David (Bonnie) Lowrie of Red Wing; 4 grandchildren, Rick, Cindy, Jason and Jeremy and 5 great-grandchildren, Nicole, Emma, Jadyn, Eila and Charlie.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Michael; daughter, Donna; son-in-law, Pat and a sister, Elaine.
Mass of Resurrection will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.
