Jean Iris Klair, 79, of Red Wing, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 at St. Brigid's at Hi Park. She was born June 4, 1929 in Wacouta to Charles and Frana (Prescher) Kuhfuss. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1946. She worked at the City Hospital for four years as a nurse's aid and later became a homemaker. She married Gordon Klair on March 6, 1948 in Red Wing. Gordon died June 21, 2003. She was a member of United Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time at Balsam Lake in the summer, music, and spending time with family.
She is survived by three children, Kay (Steven) Egner of Rochester, Charles (Cheryl) Klair of Hager City and Peggy Lane of St. Paul; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Dahl and Margie Stumpf, both of Red Wing.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Patricia Klair; sister, Deloris Korsten; and brother Charles Kuhfuss.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Steve Timm officiating. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jesse, Joshua, and Jennie Egner, Kamara Wood, Jamison Klair, Gretchen, Hannah, and Benjamin Lane. Visitation will be 4-7 Monday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to Red Wing Hospice.
