Jean D. Jensch age 53 of Zumbrota died on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, March 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Reverend Wayne Schoch officiating. Inurnment will be in Zumbrota Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jean Denise Tangen was born on January 31, 1958 in Zumbrota, MN to Lloyd and Amy (nee Lohmann) Tangen. She was raised on the family farm in rural Wanamingo. She attended Wanamingo Schools, where she was active in sports, FHA, and 4-H. She worked part-time at Ray's Cafe in Zumbrota and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1976. She attended the University of Minnesota - Morris Campus and transfered to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities Campus in 1978. She was crowned Goodhue County Dairy Princess in 1978. On August 20, 1983 she married Wm. "Bill" Jensch at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. Her husband Bill passed away December 12, 2009. She worked in the investment/securities industry for twenty years. Her last position was as an office manager/executive secretary for Dain Bosworth, Rochester, MN until her health declined. Jean was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, family and friends, riding horse, driving corvettes, antiquing, reading, and gardening.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Victoria Jensch of Zumbrota, parents, Lloyd and Amy Tangen of Pine Island; brothers, Paul (Helen) Tangen of Grand Meadow, Donald (LeAnn) Tangen of Sartell, and Lowell (Kathleen) Tangen of Wanamingo; sisters, Mary (Lowell) Berglund of Dawson, Susan (Daniel) Abel of Cedar Rapids, IA and Ann (Paul) Nibbe of Zumbrota; brothers-in-law, Richard (Jane) Jensch of Zumbro Falls, David (Dawn) Jensch of Esko, Thomas (Kim) Jensch of West Concord and Robert (Noa) Jensch of Henderson, NV; sisters-in-law, Teresa Leary of Oronoco, Mary Olson of Fountain Hills, AZ and Margaret (Jeff) Vaughn of Superior, WI; uncles, Martin Lohmann and David (Gladys) Lohmann all of Zumbrota; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; two brothers-in-law and one nephew.
Memorials are preferred to the family or Kids of Christ.
