OBITUARY: Jean Grover
Funeral services for Jean Grover will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Reverend Tom Isaacson officiating. Casketbearers will be James Grover, John Vangsness, Bradley Grover, Charles F. Grover, Brian Grover, Harley A. Hellerud, Daniel Hellerud, Jeff Grover, Darryl Grover and Steve Draves. Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery.
Jean Grover, age 81, of Zumbrota, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island. She was born Imogene Marcella Hellerud on March 26, 1926 in Northfield, MN to Oscar O. and Christine (Lockrem) Hellerud. She attended school in Dennison, MN. Jean graduated from Northfield High School and attended the University of Minnesota. On December 6, 1947, she married Harvey Wallace Grover in Dennison, MN. Following their marriage, Jean worked at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Banitts Store in Zumbrota and did bookkeeping for Grover Auto in Zumbrota for many years. Harvey died on August 3, 1982. She was a member of the United Redeemer Lutheran Church and was very active with volunteer work for various groups around the area. She enjoyed her grandchildren, walking, doing volunteer work and cooking.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Renae (James) Syverson, and her son, Gary (LeAnn) Grover, all of Zumbrota. Five grandchildren: Aaron James Syverson, Brent Grover Syverson, Kaile Kim Me Syverson, Torie Jean Grover and Molly Marie Grover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother, Harley O. Hellerud.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2007 at Mahn Family Funeral Home Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
