Jean Cox

Jean Cox, age 86, of Lake City was called home on Sunday, September 03, 2017 at home surrounded by family and friends. Jean was born September 19, 1930 in Millville, MN to Alvin and Edna (Carsten) Adler. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1949. On September 25, 1949, she married Aiden Cox. They were married 50 years. Jean enjoyed going to casinos, playing cards with friends, dancing, fishing, camping, looking for pretty rocks (which we called grandma Jean rocks), crocheting, and puzzles. She loved her beloved dog Shadow. Jean was a special person not only to her family but to everyone who had the pleasure to meet her. When you met Jean, it didn't take long to know her favorite color was RED. Alzheimer's was a part of Jean's life for 17 years.

Jean is survived by her four children, Jerry (Lisa Watt) Cox, Dale Cox both of Pekin Illinois, Sharon (Lee) Eggenberger of Lake City, and Randy (E're) Cox of Fishers, IN; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Jackie Vosler of Rochester and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Aiden on August 21, 2000; two sisters, Delores Schmauss and LaDonna Borgen; two brothers, Dallas Adler and Marlin Adler; and her faithful dog, Shadow.

A celebration of Jean's Life will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Fred Morck officiating. Burial will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be one hour before at the church. Those attending the service are encouraged to wear her favorite color RED.
