J B Henning age 87 of Lake City passed away July 5, 2009 at the Lake City Hospital Mayo Health System.

J B was born January 15, 1922 to Burl & Maureen (Kegrice) Henning in Valley City, North Dakota. He grew up and attended school in Scranton, IA. J B served in the Army Air Core during WW II where he was an Airplane Mechanic. After he was discharged he returned to Iowa. He married Elizabeth Dreier September 29, 1945 in Hubbard, IA. They moved to Lake City in 1957 where he farmed and worked at Di Acro in Lake City as a Shop Forman until his retirement. His wife Elizabeth passed away May 7, 1989. He then married Darleen Carpentier December 24, 1990 in Lake City. He was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with is many friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Darleen; three sons, Steven of Cottage Grove, MN, Paul (Kris) of Rochester, MN, David (Tami) of Alexandria, MN; two daughters, Ann (Jack Weber) Henning of Lincoln, NE, Jean (Ralph) Fairchild of Fairfax, MN; four step-sons Lee Leddy of Jefferson City, MO, John Wengert Excelsior Springs, MO, David Wengert of St. Cloud, MN, James Leddy of Fort Worth, TX; one step-daughter, Pamela Agnew of Spring Hill, KS; 21 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers Vance Henning of Scranton, IA, Homer Henning of Rockford, IL; one sister Joyce Herron of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; one son, John; two sisters Virginia Tatum, Ruth Cook; one daughter in-law, Carol Henning.

A Memorial service will be Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Lake City at 11:00 AM with Rev. Donald Jones officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church.
