Janice E. Tomforde

Janice Elizabeth Tomforde, age 58, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, April 06, 2010 at her home. She was born May 20, 1951 in Rochester to Frank and Alice (Ross) Freese. Janice and her family moved to Lake City in 1962. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969 and then moved to the cities for a year. After moving back to Lake City in 1970 she began working for Smith, Schreiber and Jarstad as a legal secretary. For the past fourteen years she has been working as a deputy court clerk in Wabasha and retired in July 2008 due to illness. Janice was a member of St. John's Lutheran. She enjoyed reading any book available.

Janice is survived by her husband, Louis of Lake City; son, Mark (Measa) Tomforde of Houston, TX; daughter, Lisa (Pete) Edwards of Windom, MN; two grandchildren, Lillith and Charles Edwards; two brothers, Robert (Sharon) Freese of Rockford, MN and Vern Freese of Ostrander, MN; brother-in-law, Harold (Lynda) Tomforde of Lake City; sister-in-law, Mary Kohrs of Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents; and twenty two aunts and uncles.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Daniel Kroll officiating. Visitation will be Friday 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Stained Glass Window Restoration.
