Janice Lee Murray, 57, of Lake City, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Fairview Red Wing Seminary Home. Born Sept. 22, 1952 in Stillwater, Minnesota to Wilbur and Norma (Owen) Gossett she grew up in the Diamond Bluff area. She quit school as a young woman to help care for her mother. After her mother's death, she moved to Frederick, Wisconsin, where she lived with her cousin and they later moved to Bay City, Wisconsin. She had worked at motels, Larry's Broiler and the Red Wing Health Center. She married David Murray on Sept. 13, 1996. She enjoyed crocheting and crafts and dancing and music.

She is survived by her husband of Lake City; sisters, Doris Peterson of Red Wing, Annetta (Russell) Smith of Hager City, Joy (Gary) Hinton of Savannah, Georgia and Darleen Rightman of Red Wing; 2 step-children, Travis and Tammy Murray; several nieces and nephews and a godson, Jay Robbins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby brother.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at the Fairview Seminary Home Chapel with Reverend Cheryl Szabo officiating. Burial will be at Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the Seminary Home Chapel. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
