ROCHESTER Janice Mlenar, 69, of Rochester, died Sunday (Nov. 14, 2010) at the Golden Living Center West in Rochester.
Janice Carol Ernst was born Aug. 13, 1941 in Rochester, to Raymond and Dora (Hair) Ernst. She was in the first class to graduate from John Marshall High School. On June 15, 1968 she married Jerry Mlenar at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Jerry died Jan. 25, 2009. Janice worked in the Endocrinology Lab at the Mayo Clinic for thirty eight and one half years. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, flowers, birds, and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Todd, of Rochester; her daughter, Traci (Erick) Scovill, of Dodge Center, MN; her step daughter, Jodi (Brian) Krueger of Austin, MN; her brother, Richard (Joan) Ernst, of Minneapolis; and grandchildren, Jesse and Jacob Krueger, Travis, Elaine, Shawna, Trenedy, Marcaisia, and Tyler Mlenar, Jade Scovill, and Talus Scovill. Her parents also preceded her in death.
The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home Rochester Chapel with Rev. Sue Iverson of the Community Celebration Church of Byron officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens next to her husband. Friends may call one hour before the service, and a reception will be held following the service.
