Janet "Jean" Taylor

Janet "Jean" Taylor, 70, of Prairie Island, died at her residence Monday, April 27, 2015. She was born February 3, 1945 in Pipestone, MN, the daughter of Nathan Hosea and Erna Olive (Johnson) Taylor, Sr. She grew up on Prairie Island. She was known to enjoy good times and doing fun things including listening to Motown music, dancing, watching spooky movies and SciFi, talking about old times and good memories and spending time with her family, friends and her cat companions. She also enjoyed going to the casino and liked to cause trouble. She will be remembered for her smile.

Survivors include her children: Shalane (Richard) Bush of Prescott, WI, Domita (Garry) Dewald of Motley, MN, Pacer Taylor of Minneapolis, her grand-daughter and care-giver, Michelle (Ted Wickner) Boswell of Prairie Island; one brother, George (Sue) Taylor, Sr. of Prairie Island; adopted brother, Dean Strusz of Red Wing; sisters in law, Carol and Maggie Taylor; special friend Claire Woolsey; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nieces, nephews and family and friends and her cat, Mittens. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Lawrence, Robert, Howard, Sr., Nathan, Jr., Beatrice, Rose and Jumbo; her special friends, Vicki, Linda and Karen.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Prairie Island Community Center. Visitation will begin at 7 p. m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 and continue until the time of the service at the Community Center. Arrangements are with Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
