Janet Marlene Fitschen, 65, of Ellsworth and formerly of Red Wing, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Fairview University Medical Center. She was born Sept. 27, 1944 in Red Wing to Harold and Mary (Rose) Reinhart and was a 1962 graduate of Red Wing Central High School. She had married David Doose and later had married Emery Fitschen and they were divorced. She had worked at Big Ben's Restaurant and then at Red Wing Shoe where she had been working until retiring. She enjoyed going to the casino, putting puzzles together, sports--especially the MN Twins and Vikings and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a passion for horses and enjoyed going to horse shows.
She is survived by her children, Teresa (Lance Springborn) Huppert of Red Wing, Timothy (Shawn) Doose of Prescott, Troy Doose of Bay City and Tricia (Jon) Charbonneau of Prior Lake; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom (Connie) Reinhart of Rochester; one sister-in-law, Barbara Reinhart of Red Wing, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev Lynne Rigg Officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 1 at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the University of Minnesota Transplant Center.
