Janet Fisher, 93, passed away on November 16th, 2019, at Arbors at Ridges in Burnsville, Minn. She had recently moved from Potter Ridge in Red Wing to be closer to family. Janet was born February 7th, 1926 in Waukesha, Wis., to Frank and Doris Kramer. She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1943 and attended MacMurray College for Women in Jacksonville, Ill. for 2 years. She married Gordon Fisher on Sept. 21, 1945. He then flew for American Overseas Airlines out of New York. They lived on Long Island before moving to Red Wing in late 1947.
In her early years she enjoyed playing golf at the Red Wing Country Club. Later she was employed at Jostens for 10 years. In the past she volunteered at the Sheldon Theatre, The Goodhue Co. Historical Society and the Senior Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, handing out dog biscuits, gardening, reading, and baking delicious treats which she also loved to share. She will be remembered by her warm smile and kindness.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Susan McCabe of Warrensburg, Mo., Barbara (Gary) Eliason of Northfield and Debbie Fisher of Minneapolis, also 6 grandchildren, Melanie McCabe, Kristen McCabe, Peter Eliason, Ann Eliason La Porte, John and Erik Eliason, plus 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon, 1 brother Sheldon Kramer of Troy, Ohio and 1 son-in-law Dennis McCabe of Warrensburg, Mo.
The family wishes to thank her caregivers at Fairview Hospital and Hospice in Burnsville and Mayo Clinic of Red Wing. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. A private family service is to follow. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society, the Goodhue Co.
