Janelle Diercks

Janelle Janice Diercks, 72, Red Wing, died Monday, November 8, 2010 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was born August 4, 1938 in Ortonville, MN, the daughter of Herbert and Florence (Gerber) Pansch. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1956 and married Gail Diercks on April 22, 1967 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odessa. She worked at First National Bank in Red Wing for 17 years and then worked for Goodhue County in Court Aministration for 20 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of St. John�'¢?TMs Lutheran Church in Goodhue, card club, the Aid Association for Lutherans, and she worked with young people in the Hay Creek Pioneers 4-H Club. She enjoyed playing the piano, attending music concerts and gardening, especially flowers.

Survivors include her husband, Gail; two children, Joel (Dawn) Diercks of Vermillion and Melissa (Jon) Jablonski of Red Wing; three grandchildren: Matthew, Brandon and Abigail; two great-grandchildren: Canaan and Keldon; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at St. John' s Lutheran Church in Goodhue with Reverend Andrew Krause officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p. m. Thursday at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the St. John' s Lutheran Church or the School.
