Jane Behrns was born June 23, 1937 in Millville, Minnesota, the daughter of Ronald and Anna (Thomson) Behrns. Raised in Millville, Mazeppa, and Lake City, she was a graduate with the Class of 1955 in Lake City. She then attended nurses' training at the Kahler Methodist School of Nursing in Rochester. On June 27, 1959 she married Harold Roberts at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester. She pursued her career in nursing at Zumbrota Hospital and then Pine Haven Care Center, from which she retired in 2000. After retirement, she worked as a hospice nurse in Zumbrota for a year. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking. Time spent with family and friends was special to her.
Jane is survived by her sister Rose Rita Behrns of Rochester; daughter Rhonda (Terry) Hubbard of Kasson; son James (Vicki) Roberts of New Richland; granddaughter Lauren Hubbard of Rochester; step-grandsons Cameron (Kelsey) Winkels and their daughter Paisley of Owatonna, and Chandler (Lindsey) Winkels and their daughter Bailey of Eyota.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Anna Behrns; and her husband Harold Roberts.
Jane's life will be remembered with a memorial mass on Thursday June 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Pine Island. The Rev. Randal Kasel will celebrate the mass. Burial of the urn will follow at Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
