Jane Anne Larson

June 9, 1928 — May 10, 2016

Jane Larson left this life and joined her husband in heaven on May 10, 2016. She will be remembered at 11:00 Monday, May 16th at Mt Olive Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN, with a visitation preceding the service by one hour.
Jane Anne Paul was born June 9, 1928 to Evelyn and Howard Paul in rural Colfax, Wisconsin. She attended high school in Colfax and graduated in 1946. Jane worked as a bank teller in Eau Claire, and then in Colfax for several years.
She met her future husband, Orville Larson, through his sisters after he returned from fighting in World War II. They were married on March 31, 1955.
She was the loving mother to two daughters, Jenny and Wendy. In Colfax, she enjoyed participating in church circle, sewing, and also took up many different crafts during the years. Once the girls started participating in sports and music, you would find Jane and Orv at all of their games, meets, and concerts.
Jane and Orv were rarely separated. She spent many hours at the gas station they owned doing the bookwork and billing, rode with him as he delivered fuel to farmers, and provided treats for their daily coffee. After selling the gas station, Orv drove a route several days a week for Commercial Testing Labs and Jane often accompanied him on the drive.
In 2007, Jenny enticed them to move to Rochester, MN to be closer to their grandchildren. They lived independently for four years, and were able to spend many hours with their kids and grandkids.
They saw each other through many health issues, including Orv's Alzheimer's diagnosis. Eventually Jane moved with Orv to Cottagewood Senior Living when his disease progressed to where she couldn't care for him at home. Orv passed away in June 2014, and Jane stayed at Cottagewood until breaking her hip in 2015, when she moved to Golden Living Center East.
Jane was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and we will miss her greatly, but we know how much she longed to be with Orv after his passing. That knowledge has helped us let her go. We want to thank the staff at Golden Living Center East and Cottagewood for taking such good care of her, and a special thank you to the staff at St Croix Hospice who visited her with music, prayers, and touch, and made her last year more comfortable.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Jim) Dervin of Rochester, Wendy Larson of Eagan, two grandchildren, Michaela and Kyle Dervin, and sister-in-laws Sue (Don) Kolek, Jan (Harlen) Amundson, and Jan (Chuck) Larson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orv, and her sister Nancy (Tom) Prince.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Colfax Municipal Building Restoration Group. The address is CMBRG, PO Box 238, Colfax, WI 54730.
