Jamey Jerome Berning

Jamey Jerome Berning, 47, of Blue Springs, Missouri, entered into eternal life on Thursday, September 7, 2023. Jamey was born May 8, 1976 to Jerry Berning and Teresa (Price) Gadient at St. John’s Hospital in Red Wing, MN. He was the first grandson of Keith and Rosemary Price, whose legacy eventually grew to 192 grandchildren and growing.  Jamey was baptized into the waters of Christ at the Church of St. Joseph and attended and graduated from St Joseph Catholic School and from Red Wing Public Schools, class of 1994.  Following graduation, he attended college at North Dakota State University.

Jamey had a very successful career with Tradehome Shoes, which he began in high school at the age of 15, and continued to work his way to an executive position.  After 26 dedicated years with the company, he left his position to be home with his family.   Jamey was a committed father and loved his children very much. Aside from Jesus, his children always came first.  He loved taking them on vacations, going fishing, bike riding and swimming with them to name a few.  Jamey was known for his outgoing personality and love for music, dancing and singing. He will be missed by all those that loved him, especially his mother, whom he loved dearly and made time for every day.

Survivors include his children Tayler Rose (Sid), Sophie Anna, Lilly Anne “CJ” and Finn James; parents, Teresa and Todd Gadient of Red Wing and Jerry and BJ Berning of Decorah, Iowa; grandmother, Rosemary Price of Rose Creek, Minnesota; aunts and uncles, Rosemary (Ronald) Jepson of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, James (Betty) Price of Onamia, Minnesota, Kathy (Gary) Tapp of Ellsworth, Wisconsin, Maria (Lee) Schultz of Lake City, Minnesota Thomas (Tami) Price of Alden, Minnesota, Brian (Shirley) Price of Randall, Minnesota, Gina (Wayne) Peterson of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Anthony (Maria) Price of St. Anthony, Minnesota, Andrew (Natalie) Price of Kasson, Minnesota, Mary (Jon) Lewison of Rose Creek, Minnesota, Anne (Michael) Bauer of Rose Creek, Minnesota, Cheryl and (Harold) Puppe of  Red Wing, Marilyn Petersen, Kay Fisher and Dana Berning and many cousins, friends, and faith community.

Jamey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Keith Price and Gerald and Francis Berning;  his uncles, Don Petersen and Joseph Keith Price; aunt, Lou Berning; cousins, Steve Puppe, Todd Fisher, Joseph Jon Lewison, Kelli Michelle Knee, Bridget Rose Brantner, and Michael Wayne Peterson and 3 infant siblings, Jack Jerome, Gracie Mary and Tres Mary.

Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11 a.m.  on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Red Wing with Father Brandon Theisen officiating. He will be laid to rest on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Rose Creek, MN.  Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
