James Ralph Thuman

James Ralph “Jim” Thuman, 74, of Minneapolis, formerly of Goodhue, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Monday, August 19, 2024. He was born in Red Wing on September 8, 1949, to Leonard and Lucille (Bartlett) Thuman. He grew up and attended school in Vasa. He was married to Judy Bolland and they had three children and later divorced. He was an over the road trucker for many years before starting his own trucking company, Jim Thuman Truck Service. He married Deborah Westerberg in 1999. Jim enjoyed sharing stories and visiting with his friends, playing bingo, camping, boating, and watching the Minnesota Vikings. He had a passion for classic cars, owning several of his own, and enjoyed sharing this hobby with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Debi Thuman of Minneapolis; three children, Jamie (Milt) Kehren of Lake City, Jason Thuman of Goodhue, and Jeremy “Putts” Thuman of Goodhue; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Jonas of Red Wing; brother-in-law, Rick Tietz of Kenyon; brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lucille; siblings, Allan Thuman and Suzanne Tietz; and one brother-in-law, Dale Jonas.
