James C. Ryan

James Cornelius Ryan, 61, Pine City and formerly of Red Wing, died suddenly August 2, 2012 in Pine City. He was born November 22, 1950 in Plainview, Minnesota, son of Ralph and Eileen (Mahoney) Ryan. At the age of 13, he moved to Red Wing where he had his schooling. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 49 and Laborer Local 563 for over 30 years. On December 4, 1971, he married Judy Heitman. The couple lived in Red Wing until 2006 when they moved to Pine City. In January of 2011, James retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed ice fishing and other outdoor activities. James will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Ryan, 2 sons Jesse (Nicole) and Jay (Summer) Ryan, all of Red Wing; three grandchildren, Cody, Parker and Peyton Ryan; three brothers: Edward Ryan of Chaska, Larry (Donna) Ryan of Plainview and John (Joanie) Ryan of Zumbrota; four sisters: Donna (Al) Sprick of Lake City, Mary Ann Nelson of Stewartville, Marilyn (Mark) Yule of Gordon, WI and Darlene Lind of Ellsworth; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Eugene Hasselquist officiating. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 and on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. There will be a reception following the service on Tuesday at the Red Wing Elks Club. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice. Condolences may be left at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
