James Perkins

James Robert Perkins, 72, of Red Wing, died Wednesday at his home. He was born on November 19, 1935, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Columbus and Dorothy (Jones) Perkins. He attended Marshall High School in St. Paul and for many years did upholstery work. He lived in the Twin Cities, Seattle, Washington and for the past eight years has resided in Red Wing. On February 14, 2006 he was married to Judy McGuire. He enjoyed fishing, reading and was very artistic, especially drawing.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; one brother, Wayne (Jeanette) Buckley of St. Paul; one sister, Selma White of Minneapolis and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Lynne Rigg officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.
