OBITUARY: James A. Pauba

Mass of Christian Burial for James A. Pauba will be at 11 am on Monday, September 10, 2007 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Zumbrota with Father Timothy Dolan officiating. Kristen Donovan will provide the music. Casketbearers will be Ed Bartelt, Jim Glanders, Clyde Hinrichs, Jerry Steege, Ordean Swain, and Merlin Wilbur. Burial will follow at a later date in St. Paul's Catholic Church Cemetery.

James Arthur Pauba, age 76, of Zumbrota died on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the Zumbrota Nursing Home. He was born on April 4, 1931 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Arthur and Grace (Dietz) Pauba. He attended school in Owatonna and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1949. From March 1951 to March 1955 he served in the United States Air Force stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois. On August 23, 1952, Jim married Mildred Sobrek at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. After leaving the Air Force he attended Midland Linotype School in Charles City, Iowa and worked in the printing field for many years. Prior to his retirement, he worked at the Rochester Sears store from 1985 to 1995. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, the Zumbrota Post #183 of the American Legion and VFW Stary-Yerka Post #5727 of Zumbrota. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending bluegrass concerts, watching Nascar races, and most of all spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by his wife, Millie, of Zumbrota, MN; his four daughters: Kathy (Gary) Matthees of Greenville, WI, Karen (Bryce) Ofstie of Duluth, MN, Gayle Schultz of Pepin, WI, and Amy (Tom) Foldesi of Duluth, MN; nine grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Sunday with a Rosary Service scheduled at 4 pm at Mahn Family Funeral Home � Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
