James Joseph LeBlanc, 80, of Red Wing, died Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Twin Rivers in Cannon Falls, where he has resided for the past year. He was born on February 22, 1938, in Worthington, Minnesota to Oliver and Viola (Beulke) LeBlanc. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School and then served in National Guard for a number of years. He married Arlene Wilkens and they later divorced. He was a butcher, mechanic, worked construction and did maintenance work for the St. James Hotel. He also owned and operated Jim's Skelly in lower Burnside for a number of years. He was a member of various car clubs and enjoyed the outdoors, watching the eagles, and had a love for cars, especially his Corvette. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and "brainiac" grandchildren.
He is survived by his two children, Tim LeBlanc of Red Wing and Shelly Grunklee of Eagan; two grandchildren, Maddie and Drew Grunklee; one sister, Suzanne LeBlanc of Woodbury; several nieces and nephews and his cat, Lucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Tom and one sister, Sister Thomas Marie.
A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Burial will be at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
