James Henry Jagusch

James Henry Jagusch, 89, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Providence Place Care Facility in Minneapolis. He was born November 16, 1918 in Red Wing to Henry and Eva (Van Deusen) Jagusch and was a 1938 graduate of Red Wing Central High School. He served in the US Army Air Force from March 18, 1942 to December 12, 1945. He married Marjorie Peterson on June 5, 1948 at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing. He worked for SB Foot Tanning Company for 40 years, retiring in 1980. After retiring, they lived in Luck, Wisconsin until 1993, when they returned to Red Wing. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, a former Boy Scout leader for Pack 32 for 14 years and a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion #54. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Marge of Red Wing; two children, Julie Jagusch of Coon Rapids and Tim (Judi) Jagusch of Ketchikan, Alaska; four grandchildren, Brian, Andrea, Elizabeth and Tess Jagusch; two brothers, Robert Jagusch of Red Wing and Don (Darlene) Jagusch of Eau Claire and one sister, Barbara (Marvin) Schlitzer of Dubuque, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by one son, Brad Jagusch; three sisters, Evelyn Carroll, Donna Heins, and Betsy Hauswirth and two brothers, Ned and Dan Jagusch.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church with Reverends Carroll Marohl and Karen Pahl officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors. Honorary pallbearers will be David Jagusch, Ruth Blodgett, Linda Wrzos, Pat Valtakis, Jill Hague, Lorin Peterson, Terri Ruppel and Jeff Peterson. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Monday with a Legion Service at 7 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to the church.
