James K. Ellis

James K. Ellis passed away on March 10, 2018 at his home in Red Wing at the age of 75. Jim was born September 29, 1942 in Minneapolis to Robert and Evelyn (Thomas) Ellis. Jim was raised in Minneapolis and transferred to Red Wing with Durkee Atwood. When Jim retired from Durkee Atwood, he decided to remain in Red Wing as it had become his home. Late in life, Jim met and married his beloved wife Jean (Anderson) Ellis. Following her death, Jim remained close to her family. Jim was a member of Cornerstone Community Church, a cherished volunteer at Jordan Towers, and an avid traveler. He was a life-long advocate of walking and never obtained a driver's license even though he always lived in Minnesota. He is survived by his brother Thomas (Lorraine) Ellis, sister Bonnie (Gaylord) Ryg, sister Donna Grimm, many nieces, nephews, grand nephews and grand nieces, step-granddaughters Amy Anderson and Jessica Anderson, and his wife Jean's family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Jordan Tower I at 12:00 p.m. followed by a luncheon reception.
