James J. Edwards

James Jerome Edwards, age 74, of Red Wing, died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. He was born November 27, 1945 to Arnold and Inga (Sateran) Edwards in Williston, ND. He grew up in Alamo, ND and graduated from Alamo High School in 1963. He then attended the University of North Dakota, and North Dakota State College of Science where he graduated in 1966. He was employed by Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, IA until he joined the U.S. Navy. In 1970 Jim was honorably discharged from the Navy and moved to Red Wing. He worked at Jostens where he began in engineering and later heading various management positions until the plant closed in 2003. On March 5th 1973 he married Paulette Marie Murdoff at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. In his later years he kept busy doing lawn work and maintaining Calvary Cemetery. He was a member of the Red Wing Volunteer Fire Department, retiring in 1993 after 20 years of service. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 54, VFW, and the Red Wing Elks BPOE 845. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette of Red Wing; three children, Jason (Amber) of Providence, Rhode Island, Robin (Lee) Lamberson of Lakeville, Minn., and Jeffrey (Pia) of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren, Tristan, Rileigh, Ryan, Logan and Robbie. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Allen and Irving Edwards.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
