James E. Johnson

James Edward Johnson, 62, of Red Wing, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.  He was born December 20, 1958, in Red Wing to parents, Raymond and Karna (Diercks) Johnson and was a 1977 graduate of Red Wing Central High School.  He was husband to Janey Marie Johnson, who preceded him in death, and father to Timothy James Johnson and Thomas Raymond Johnson.

In life, Jim was honored to be a firefighter/EMT for the R.W. Fire Department and enjoyed saving lives. An incredibly kind person, Jim was willing to do anything to help those in need.

His hobbies included classic cars, horseshoes, playing cards, collecting coins and Hot Wheels and building the biggest bonfires possible.

At the time of his death, he was living in Bay City, Wisconsin, in the care of his son, Timothy and daughter-in-law, Tylor and granddaughter, Tyana.  He had been on hospice for over two years, and out-lived everyone’s predictions.

Besides his sons, he is survived by his siblings, many nieces and nephews and his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
