James Henry Brenner

James Henry Brenner, age 81, of Bay City died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Prescott Nursing Home. He was born July 28, 1936 to William and Florence (Johnson) Brenner in Maiden Rock. He attended country schools until he began working at the Maiden Rock gas station. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1962. He married Mary Ann Funari at the Church of the Messiah Episcopal Church in Prairie Island. They moved to Bay City where He worked at the Bay City Hardware. He was a jack of all trades there until he eventually retired. James liked to keep busy and enjoyed building things with wood, excavating, and doing lawn care. He especially enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Bay City; children, Linda Thalacker of Red Wing, Carol (Brad) Guse of Red Wing, Eric (Tara) Brenner of Hastings, Matthew Brenner of River Falls; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother Edward (Loretta) Brenner of Hudson; sister, Shirley Bishop of Prescott; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Leroy and sister, Virgil Donnelly.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Online condolences can be left at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
