Jacqueline J. Meyers, age 88 of Wanamingo died on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at her home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Wayne Schoch officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will be at a later date.
Jacqueline Jeanne Verdick was born on October 3, 1930 in Alpha, MN to Henry and Ruth (Willis) Verdick. She grew up in Alfa and graduated from Jackson High School. Jacky moved to St. Paul to attend business school. Jacky married George Kelsey, raised her family and they were later divorced. She spent most of her career working for Buckbee Mears as a Quality Control Specialist. Jacky met Jerry Meyers and they married and made their home in South St. Paul, where they lived for over twenty five years. Jacky moved to Wanamingo after Jerry died to be closer to family.
Jacky was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was active in the ladies aid.
She enjoyed playing Bunco, card playing with her card club, bible study and being in the Red Hatter's Club for a while.
Jacky is survived by her children; Colleen Murphy of AZ, Mark Kelsey of Rosemount and Kim Kelsey of Wanamingo; daughter-in-law, Brandi Kelsey of Kenyon; grandchildren, Erina (Jim) Koch, Kelly (Sam) Weatherby, Shawn (Allison) Murphy, Mariah Hunter, David Hunter, Brea Meyers, Ashley Kelsey and Kyle Kelsey; great-granddaughter, Brittany; great-great-grandchildren, Brinley, Teagen and Landon; sister, Gwen Mayer; brothers, Don Verdick and Jim Verdick; sister-in-law, Alta Verdick, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jacky was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Meyers, sons, Michael Kelsey and Kevin Kelsey; parents; sisters, Geri and Florence and brother, Bill.
Memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice.
