Jacob Thomas Christianson, 23 of Red Wing, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Red Wing. He was born July 16, 1990 at St. John's Hospital in Red Wing, Minnesota, son of Jerry Christianson and Pamela Matz. He grew up and attended his schooling in Red Wing, graduating from Red Wing High School in 2008. He began taking his generals at Southeast Technical College. Jacob made his living working for McDonalds, then Walmart, and currently, at Smokin' Oak as a cook. Everyone he worked with enjoyed his company and he liked talking to anyone. He was a huge sports fan and loved any and all sports. He really loved food, especially Burger King, and video games. Bowling was a talent of his, and he played on a league at Nybo's. He was always smiling, laughing and cracking jokes. Out of all the things he loved, spending time with his family was what was most important to him. He will be sadly missed.
Jacob is survived by his parents, Jerry (Elizabeth) Christianson of Red Wing, and Pamela Matz of Hastings; seven siblings, Joshua (Kelly) Christianson, Jennifer (Michael) Conroy, and Jana, Jonathan, Jill, and Julia Christianson, all of Red Wing; grandparents, Tom and Sharon McNurlin of Red Wing, and Jan Salo; nephews, Wesley, Cedric and Eli Christianson, and Landon and Michael Conroy; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell and Evelyn Christianson; uncle Russell and aunt Alice; and aunt Laurie.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, with Reverend Kristen Schlauderaff officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
