Jackie Wood

Jacqueline "Jackie" Wood, aged 80 years and 2 months, of Red Wing, MN, died Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Fairview Red Wing Hospital, of natural causes, surrounded by those who loved her so dearly.
Jackie was born in Red Wing to Hazel G. Wood and Lester Van Schick, on March 19, 1931. She grew up in Cambridge, MN, lived at LaSalle Convalescent Home and later in her home in Red Wing with Lutheran Social Service. She lived with her family, Don, Joe T. and Brad. She worked at Opportunity Services and ProAct, Inc.
Jackie loved to go for rides in her van and for walks enjoying nature and seeing animals. She loved flowers, music, dancing and laughing. She loved bubble baths and having her toenails painted. She enjoyed going to church with her family, to movies, to see the fireworks and to watch parades. She loved to people watch where ever she went. Jackie loved her dinner dates with her dearest friend, Glen. She was known for her bright smile, loving hugs and the excitement she expressed every day of her life.
Jackie is survived by her family, Don, Joe T. and Bradley and her dearest friend, Glen. She was loved by all her staff at Lutheran Social Service, ProAct, Inc. and Opportunity Services.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Donald Stricker, Joseph Trepanier, Bradley Mickelson and Glen Vance.
Memorial Service at 6 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Homes, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 with isitation from 4:30pm - 6pm.
