Jack Clayton age 73 of Lake City passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Mayo Health System Lake City Care Center.
Jack was born October 30, 1941 in North Dakota to Burt and Dorothy (Anderson) Clayton. He grew up in Waterloo, IA. On June 12, 1959 he married Judy Hines in Cedar Falls, IA. He joined the U.S. Army and served from 1966 to 1968. After his time in the service they lived in Waterloo, IA where he worked for John Deere for 30 years, retiring in August of 1990. Later that year they moved to Frontenac, MN. Judy passed away in 2002. Jack enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by one daughter, Debra (Jeff) Duellman of Lake City; one son, Burt Clayton of Red Wing; two grandchildren, Taiylor Hoeft and Blake Hoeft. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; three brothers, Jim, Jerry, and Bob.
A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held Sunday, January 4th, 2015 from 1 to 3 at the Lake City VFW Post 8729. Burial will take place in Frontenac Cemetery.
