J. Fred Wiebusch

August 24, 1930 — July 23, 2008

ROCHESTER � The funeral for J. Fred Wiebusch will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Zumbro Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carol Solovitz officiating. A graveside service will be 11:45 a.m. Friday (Aug. 1, 2008) at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 2, 2008) at North Heights Lutheran Church in Roseville, MN.
Mr. Wiebusch, 77, of Rochester, died Wednesday (July 23, 2008) at Rochester Methodist Hospital.
Born Aug. 24, 1930 in Lake City, MN he graduated from High School there in 1948. He then attended Winona State Teachers College and the University of Minnesota. He graduated from Winona State in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business. He then served in the U. S. Army from 1952 to 1954. On May 30, 1953 he married Gloria J. Lane in Algona, IA. The couple lived in St. Paul, MN where he worked as a payroll accountant for the 3M Company for fourteen years, and then worked for the Control Data Company for five years. He was the payroll manager for Hennepin County for twenty two years retiring in 1997. The couple lived in the Twin Cities area before moving to Rochester in 2002. He was able to use his accounting skills in many different areas of volunteer work, and was also a dedicated volunteer at the Mayo Clinic. He was a member of Zumbro Lutheran Church and North Heights Lutheran Church, the Chatfield Brass Band, and the Republican Party. He was an avid Gophers fan and enjoyed music, and golf.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Suzanne Wiebusch of Minneapolis, MN; Wendy (Joel) Berthelsen of Midlothian, TX; and Tamara (Keith) Liansi of Mahwah, NJ; and five grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Zumbro Lutheran Church, and from noon Saturday at North Heights Lutheran Church.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
