A memorial service for Irvin Hetletvedt will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home's Rochester Chapel. The Reverend Paul Bauch will officiate. Mr. Hetletvedt, 80, of Rochester, died Wednesday July 22, 2009 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Irvin Henry Hetletvedt was born September 16, 1928 in Faribault, the son of Bert and Clara Hetletvedt. Raised in West Concord, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and is a veteran of the Korean War. In 1954 he returned to Rochester, where he became the plant sanitation receiving superintendent with Wonder Bread for many years, from which he later retired. Mr. Hetletvedt was a member of the American Legion Post 92, VFW Post 1215, and the Eagles' Club. Summers, he enjoyed camping at Mac's Park Place.
He is survived by his son, Jeff (Carmen) Hetletvedt of Rochester; a daughter, Lauri (Dan) Andrist of Rochester; four grandchildren, Kira, Stacy, Ashley, and Guy; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lowell (Mayion) Hetletvedt of Faribault.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mitzi Crowson, who had resided in Colorado; and was also preceded by six brothers and sisters.
Visitation, with no reviewal, will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.
