Irene Evaline Sable

Funeral services for Irene Sable will be held Monday July 28th at 10:30 AM at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island. The Reverend John Torris Lohre will officiate. Burial at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery near Ellendale will follow at 2:30 PM. Mrs. Sable, 91, a longtime resident of Mazeppa, and recently of Pine Island, died Tuesday July 22, 2008 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.
Irene Evaline Wiesjhan was born February 25, 1917 at Lemond Township in Steele County. Raised there, she married Fred Sable on April 26, 1935 in Meridan, Minnesota. The Sables resided in Owatonna five years and then moved to New Richland until 1960, after which they moved to Mazeppa. Mr. and Mrs. Sable were the owners and operators of S&S Step Co. Mrs. Sable retired in the mid-1980s. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing Horse, plastic canvas, gardening, and driving her Dodge pickup. She was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Louis) Berg of Mazeppa, and Doris (Duane) Klein of Zumbro Falls; a son, Harold (Linda) Sable of Marionville, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, 3 children, a grandson, a great-grandson, a brother, and 4 sisters.
Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Homes � Larson Chapel in Zumbrota. The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
