Irene E. Pasche, 91, of Red Wing, formerly of Hoffman, Minnesota, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park. She was born Oct. 1, 1919 at the home farm, to Herman and Alice (Shauer) Podratz in Hoffman, MN. She graduated from West Central High School in Morris, MN. She married Carl Pasche on Oct. 30, 1940 at Zion Lutheran church in Hoffman, MN. They lived in Eden Valley, MN, where Carl owned a radio repair shop and they rented out roller skates at area town halls. In 1942 they moved to Minneapolis as Carl attended the Civilian Corps School in Chicago. In 1943, they moved to Hoffman, MN and went into farming. They moved off the farm in August of 1996, and settled in Red Wing. They became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hay Creek and were past members of Zion Lutheran Church in Hoffman, where they were active members.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Vienna) of Sharon, WI and Roger (Brenda) of Red Wing; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl in 1997; son Kenneth in 1963; brother, Harold Podratz and a sister, Adeline (Podratz) Pasche.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hay Creek, with Reverend Lowell Sorenson officiating. Burial will be on June 18 at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hoffman, MN. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
