Irene Anna Marie Krier

Irene Krier age 85 of Zumbrota died on Tuesday evening, April 22, 2008 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Zumbrota with Father Robert G. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Mazeppa. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 5:00 � 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home � Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Friday one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Irene Anna Marie Befort was born on October 5, 1922 in Red Wing, MN to Louis and Kathryn (nee Frank) Befort. She grew up on the family farm in rural Mazeppa and attended country school. On June 2, 1943 she married Norbert Krier in Mazeppa. They made their home in Zumbrota and Norbert worked as a truck driver and Irene worked cleaning homes and businesses in Zumbrota for many years. Norbert died on May 27, 1980. In 1997 Irene moved to the Zumbrota Towers and in 2004 she entered the Zumbrota Nursing Home. Irene enjoyed gardening, flowers and playing bingo. Irene is survived by her son, Keith (Dianne) Krier of Wanamingo, three granddaughters, Dawn (Van) Larson of Rochester, Cindy (Steve) Rotert of St. James and Michelle (Paul) Lidtke of Zumbrota, four great grandchildren, Bradley, Taylor and MaKenna Rotert and Hunter Larson, two step-great grandchildren, Chelsey Lidtke and Nick Larson and her brother, Sylvester "Sunny" (Josephine) Befort of Zumbrota. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Norbert and her parents Louis and Kathryn Befort.
