Irene Kelland Johnson

Irene (Kelland) Johnson, 79, of Tucson, Ariz. (lovingly called "Mimi" by her grandchildren and
great grandchildren) died unexpectedly September 21, 2015 at Renown Regional Hospital in Reno, Nevada. She was born November 13, 1935 in Grates Cove, Newfoundland, Canada to Aubrey and Charlotte Anne (Hodder). On November 21, 1953, she married James "Jim" , formerly of Red Wing, Minn. The couple had three children. Irene was strong in her faith and enjoyed her daily devotional readings. She was a member of St. Philips Church inTucson and was active in the church's Lay Liturgical Ministry. Her interests included fashion, art, poetry, and visiting museums during her world travels. Irene was also an accomplished gourmet cook much to the delight of her loved ones. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Irene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim Johnson; daughter, Debra (Gary) Soper of Tuscany Hills, Calif.; two sons, Thomas (Suzanne) Johnson of Sonora, Calif. and Keith (Kathleen) Johnson of Long Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Melissa Temkin and Melanie Kelland Tyler of
Reno, Nevada, Brad Soper and Chris Soper of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif; Toriana Johnson, Sofia Irene Johnson, Thomas James Johnson of Sonora, Calif., Gina Bokor of Long Beach, Calif and Keith Johnson of Gilbert, Ariz.; four great grandchildren, Maizie, Olivia, Emily, Christine,; siblings, Vivian, Maisie, Aubrey Kelland Junior, Addison, all of Canada.
Proceeded in death by her beloved brother Ralph.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015 at St. Philips Episcopal Church in Tucson. Graveside commital service will take place October 9th at 2pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing, Minnesota.
