Irene Greden

Irene Margaret Greden, 85, of Lake City, and formerly of Winona, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006 at the Lake City Nursing Home. She was born September 6, 1921 in Lake City to Harry Linton and Ann (Peterson) Haase. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1940. On November 17, 1941, she married Walter Greden at the Oak Ridge Catholic Church in Oak Ridge Twsp., Minnesota. They lived in Illinois for a time and then moved back to Lake City until 1956 when they moved to Winona. Walter died in December of 1999 and Irene came back to Lake City in 2000. She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Lake City. She is survived by two children, Kathy (Jim) Weimerskirch of Prior Lake and Robert (Kate) Greden also of Prior Lake; five grandchildren and five great-grand children; one brother, Robert (Gerty) Haase of Lake City and two sisters, Carol (Robert) Young of Arizona and Millie (Charles) Cabaday of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter and two sisters, Kris Holmquist and Bette Clare. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Lake City with Father James Russell officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to donor?s choice Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson-Mahn Chapel.
