Irene Mae Beaulieu

April 3, 1925 — June 7, 2015

Irene Mae Beaulieu, 90, of Lake City, died peacefully in her sleep with her family around her on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Lake City Care Center. She was born on April 3, 1925 in the Red River Valley. She grew up and attended schools in Lake City and married Clifford R. Beaulieu on June 6, 1942 at St. John's Lutheran Church. They farmed in West Florence, raising corn, pigs, chickens, dairy cows, and African geese, which she especially loved. She worked as a nursing assistant at St. John's Hospital and Haven Homes in Red Wing. Clifford died October 17, 1994. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Florence. Irene loved porcelain dolls, Indian statues, and flowers, especially African violets. She was a loving, caring mother and grandmother.
Survivors include six daughters, Sandra (John) Stadler of Clairmore, OK, Lynn (Donald) Smith of Greenville, NC, Gwen Noble of Hastings, MN, Candy (Bruce) Stubstad of Rochester, MN, Linda Susan Newton of Lake City, MN, and Avanell Adams of Oklahoma; six sons, George and Mark (Jolyn) Beaulieu, all of Lake City, MN, Steven Bealieu of San Diego, CA, Gregory (Sharon), Burl (Bonnie Steffenhagen) and, Jeff Beaulieu, all of Red Wing; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren and two on the way; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Cherie Frazier; four grandchildren; her parents; and all of her siblings.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p. m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing with Reverend Stephen Kurtzahn officiating. Arrangements are by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Online condolences may be left for the family at: www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
