Ingeborg Skurdal, 99 of Red Wing, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Potter Ridge Assisted Living. Ingeborg was born April 27, 1912, in Norway the daughter of Sam and Marie (Handeland) Langager. She attended and graduated from Stewart Consolidated School, Epping High School, and Mayville State College in Mayville, North Dakota. After graduation she taught school for a number of years. She married Reverend Sverre Skurdal in 1942. They lived in the Midwest for many years, where Sverre served as a pastor at several churches before moving to Red Wing in 1977. Sverre died on March 1, 2005. She was a member of First Covenant Church in Red Wing. She enjoyed reading, entertaining, and crocheting afghans, and gardening.
She is survived by one son, Leslie of Arizona; one daughter Rosemary Craig of Westport, Connecticut; five grandchildren, Jake, Nick, and Matt Skurdal and Zoya and David Craig; great-grandchildren, Braden and Adeline Skurdal; sister, Marie Jensen; brother, David (Esther) Langager; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie (Tim) Fisher of West Union, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sverre Skurdal; one son Tim Skurdal; four brothers, Otto, John, Silas, and Eldor Langager; and two sisters, Serine Oxendahl and Esther Langager.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2011, at First Covenant Church with Reverend Timothy Anderson officiating. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. Memorials are preferred to First Covenant Church.
