ROCHESTER ? The funeral for Inez O. Petersen-Nelson will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven Ronningen officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Otterholt Cemetery in Chetek, WI.
Mrs. Petersen-Nelson, 90, of Rochester, former co-owner of Reynolds Wholesale died Monday (Nov. 5, 2007) at St. Mary's Hospital.
Inez O. Petersen was born Oct. 29, 1917 in Maple Grove Township, Barron County, WI. She was raised near Chetek, WI and graduated from Chetek High School. She moved to LaCrosse, WI where she worked as a Dental Assistant. She married Donald T. Petersen in 1944 in LaCrosse. The couple moved to Rochester in 1946 and purchased Reynolds Wholesale. She served as Vice-President and retired in 1988. Mr. Petersen died on Dec. 31, 1977. She had resided at Sunrise Cottages in Rochester since 2003.
She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and the Rochester Golf and Country Club where she enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Evergreen's. She was also involved in the Pink Ladies and enjoyed the family cabin and boating on the Mississippi.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Dale) Seltun of Rochester; two sons Jon (Linda) Petersen of Newport Beach, CA; and George (Felicia) Petersen of Rochester; five grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, and Benjamin Petersen, Katie McCaleb, and Kelsey Kent; and two great grandchildren. A son and a brother preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Rochester Chapel, and one hour before the service at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Research or Seasons Hospice.
