Inez Elizabeth Brown

March 28, 1934 — August 30, 2009

Funeral services for Inez Brown will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester with the Reverend Paul Bauch officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Brown, 75, of Rochester, died Sunday August 30, 2009 at Sunrise Cottages, where she resided.

Inez Elizabeth Burt was born March 28, 1934 in Freeborn Township, Winona County, Minnesota. She was a graduate of Rochester High School. On July 11, 1954 she married Richard L. 'Dick' Brown in Rochester. Mrs. Brown worked at Model Laundry, and then worked 20 years in the laundry department at the Rochester State Hospital. Prior to her retirement, she worked 14 years as a baker for the Rochester Public Schools. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sons, Rick Brown and his wife Victoria of Rochester, and Rob Brown and his wife Meredith of New Franken, Wisconsin; a daughter, LeAnn Brown and her fiancé Chris Dahlenburg of Medford; four grandchildren, Stacy MacMillan, Starr Brown, Corrina Brown, and Kelsey Brown; a great-grandchild, Miranda MacMillan; seven sisters, Charlotte Stafford, Margaret Berg, Julaine Felsted, Judy Garske, Bonnie Schumann, Linda Warnake, and Harriet Towe; and three brothers, Curtis Burt, Alvin 'Stub' Burt Sr., and Gary Burt. Her mother-in-law, Esther Lulf of Owatona, also survives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Brown; parents, Everett Burt Sr. and Hazel Burt; an infant son; and two brothers, Everett Burt Jr., and Robert Burt.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Rochester Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
