Ila Alice Heldt, 102, of Lake City, died Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Lake City Nursing Home. She was born May 12, 1913 in Lake City to Thomas and Fanny "Ervie" (O'Hara) Walters and attended school in the area. On May 12, 1929, she was untied in marriage to John W. Heldt and they lived in Lake City. Ila was a homemaker and was always a wonderful hostess to her family and friends. She loved bird watching and was fond of owls. She also enjoyed reading and was a fan of the MN Twins. She was a member of United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughter, Thelma (Bob) Nauck of Choteau, MT; grandchildren, Barb (Rick) Chambers of Choteau and Chuck Nauck of Kent, WA; great-grandson, Kyle and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, John in 2004; siblings, LeRoy "Toby" Walters, Etta Walters, Verma Olin, Vera Driesback, Ed Walters, Marce Walters, Majelle Geisler and Ernie Walters
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at United Methodist Church with Reverend Phillip Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the family. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson Peterson Chapel.
