Homer Harold Anderson

Homer Harold Anderson, 83, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at his home. He was born on June 18, 1932 in Stanley, Wisconsin to Homer, Sr. and Anna (Van Gorder) Anderson. He attended schools in Stanley and then served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1956. On April 18, 1959, he married Lois Alich in Farmington, Minnesota. They lived in Minneapolis where he worked for ADC Communications and then in 1966 started Introl Company with a group. The company was bought out by Hartzel Corporation from St. Paul in 1973. He continued to work for them until 1979, while he and Lois resided in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. From 1979 to 1992 he worked as a quality control manager for Rivera Cabinets in Red Wing. He was a limo driver for Treasure Island Casino and drove school bus for Lee Lines. He was a member of the Church of St. Joseph, Knights of Columbus, Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54, Red Wing Elks BPOE #845 and the Red Wing Woodcarvers. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife Lois; three children, Douglas Anderson of Minneapolis, Michael J. Anderson of Red Wing and Lisa K. Anderson of Apple Valley; one sister, Delores Anderson of Stanley, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lynn Marie; two brothers, George and Don and one sister, Margaret Jacobson.
Mass of Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Church of St. Joseph with Father Thomas M. Kommers presiding. Burial with full military honors will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, April 25 with a 7 p.m. Legion prayer service at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and at the church for one hour prior to the service.
