Henrietta Windhorst age 88 of Mazeppa died on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bear Valley in rural Mazeppa with Reverend Alan Horn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 4:00 � 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home � Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Henrietta Dahling was born on March 21, 1919 in Mazeppa Township, Wabasha County, MN to Rudolph and Emma (nee Siems) Dahling. She grew up on the family farm in Mazeppa Township and graduated from Mazeppa High School in 1936. On October 8, 1936 she married Lavern L. Windhorst at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bear Valley. They farmed in the Bear Valley area and in 1974 they moved to Mazeppa. Lavern died on July 8, 2000 and in the fall of 2000 Henrietta moved to the Bridges in Zumbrota. She was a resident of Maple Manor Care Center for the past year. Henrietta enjoyed gardening, needlework, crafts, cooking, sewing and reading. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Bear Valley and the Mazeppa Senior Citizens. Henrietta is survived by two sons, Duane (Marilyn) Windhorst and David (Brenda) Windhorst, both of Mazeppa, five grandchildren, Brenda (Mark) Debner, Todd Windhorst, Allison Windhorst, Melissa (Josh) Boraas and Corbin Windhorst, five great grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Nathan and Matthew Debner and Jack Boraas, one brother, Alfred (Margie) Dahling of Goodhue and one sister, Joan Hinsch of Goodhue. Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband Lavern, two sons, Larry and Lavern Jr. Casketbearers are Todd Windhorst, Mark, Ryan, and Nathan Debner, Josh Boraas and Troy Huebbe. Honorary bearers are Brenda, Rachel and Matthew Debner, Allison and Corbin Windhorst and Melissa Boraas.
