Helen Weber Stolp

Funeral services for Helen Stolp will be held Saturday November 2nd at 2:30 PM at The Presbyterian Church of Oronoco. The Reverend Lisa Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Oronoco Cemetery. Mrs. Stolp, 98, of Pine Island, died Friday October 25, 2013 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.

Helen Weber Caulfield was born June 20, 1915 near Byron, Minnesota, the daughter of Harold and Viola Caulfield. Raised on the family farm, she was a graduate of Byron High School, and valedictorian of the Class of 1933. She attended Normal School for a year, and then worked as a teacher near Byron. She then attended Minneapolis Business School, after which she worked as a deputy registrar at the courthouse in Rochester. On March 24, 1940, in Byron, she married Wesley Verne Stolp. Following her marriage, Helen was a homemaker and farmed with her husband near Oronoco. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Oronoco. She and her husband enjoyed travelling throughout the United States and Canada.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Barbara Johnson of Rochester, Joanne (John) Hace of Chaska; a son, Keith (Roxanne) Stolp of Rochester; grandchildren, Christopher (Tina) Stolp, Becky (Greg) Schulte, Brian (Elizabeth) Hace, Kevin (Kristi) Hace, Scott (Heidi) Hace, Benjamin Johnson, and Beth (Shawn) Bretthauer; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jim (Eileen) Caulfield of Byron; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993; and by two brothers, Jack Caulfield and his wife, Gladys, and Keith Caulfield.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Mahler Chapel, in Pine Island. The visitation will continue from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at the Presbyterian Church of Oronoco. Due to ongoing road construction in the Oronoco area, it is recommended that Highway 52 exit 64 be used for those planning to travel to the church visitation or service.

If so desired, memorials may be directed to Pine Haven Care Center, Oronoco Presbyterian Church, or the Oronoco Cemetery Association.
