Helen Monson

Helen Mary Ann Monson, age 76, of Red Wing, died Saturday at Red Wing Health Center. She was born on September 10, 1929, in Prescott, the daughter of Fred and Huldah (Hartman) Mausolf. She was a graduate of Prescott High School. She worked as a live in nanny prior to her marriage to Harold Monson on September 2, 1961, in St. Paul. They lived in St. Paul until moving to Red Wing in 1974. He died on September 14, 1975. She worked as a housekeeper in private homes in Red Wing and she was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.Survivors include her sister, Naomi Lenway of Red Wing; and two nieces, Susan (Keith) Webster of Mendota Heights and Mary (Bill) Lenway-Just of Bloomington. Her husband preceded her in death. Private family burial in be in Pine Glen Cemetery, Prescott, will be at a later date. Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel is handling arrangements.
