Helen Johnson, age 63, of Wabasha, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her home. She was born in Red Wing on August 27, 1950 to James and Florence (Quade) Holden. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School. She worked at the A&W Rootbeer Stand, Riedell Skates, the Sheldon Theatre, and Edge of Town Mobile Home Park. She married Harry Stewart and they later divorced. She married Dennis Johnson on June 7, 1986 at United Lutheran Church. She enjoyed riding with Dennis as he drove semi over 48 states. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survived by husband, Dennis; Daughter, Denniel (John Mickow) Johnson; son, Jesse Stewart; step-children, Robert (Staci) Johnson, Scott Johnson, Bridget Johnson, Kevin (Connie Jutzi) Johnson, Heather Johnson, Billy (Amy) Johnson; 21 grandchildren including her special granddaughter Emilie; three great-grandchildren; siblings, James Holden, LaVonne (Paul) Jennings, Betty Holden, Glenn Holden, Dennis (Linda) Holden; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog Shelby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and James Holden; step-mother, Marjorie Holden; step-daughter, Theresa; two grandchildren, Damian, and Kelly; brother, Sam Holden; sisters, Irene Albrecht, Evelyn Hayes, Patricia Albrecht.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Holden, Phillip Holden, Dean Holden, Dennis Anderson, Robert Johnson, Richard Hayes, and Billy Albrecht. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Quiding, Mark Jennings, Randy Stewart, Tony Jennings, Jenny Hayes, Tonya Hayes, Harvey Seal. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and Friday one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
